Take these beliefs and swallow them whole
A fistful of ideas rammed straight down your throat
Washed down with a glass of someone else's soul
Savouring the taste as you push and shove for more
Why think for yourself when someone else can
It's easy to be guided by someones hand
I can't believe that I did it so wrong
Coz I did it myself and ended up alone
We have it made
Nothing else to say
The media will dictate what we're thinking anyway
Lock it away
Throw away the key
This world would be better if we left it up to
I like to think but it got me nowhere
I was an outcast because I tried to share
I had Ideas but they turned to fears
The more I spoke, the more hands over ears
Why think for yourself when someone else can
It's easy to be guided by someones hand
I can't believe that I did it so wrong
Coz I did it myself and ended up alone
We have it made
Nothing else to say
The media will dictate what we're thinking anyway
Lock it away
Throw away the key
This world would be better if we left it up to
Me
We'll see.
If you're not on our side
Then soon you will be
Coz when we're all dead
We are on the same team
Choose your side
Before we let our fate decide

Cannot Cut Me Down
02:37

So far i've had a rough time
trying to figure out who is on my side
People tell me they feel the same
It's hard to tell, it shouldn't be that way
Liars by your side
Push them out if you want to survive
Moving forward, moving up
Working hard, don't rely on luck
Why the hell should I lose sleep
Because you're not giving me what I need
It's kinda hard not to cross the line
But fighting back is a waste of time
I am the man that I am coz I learned something
People do forget the effect pessimism has
I built a bridge and i'm walking proudly over it
I built it myself and it's the perfect fit
I'm not defined by words form your kind
This is my time, this is our time
I'm not defined by words form your kind
This is my time, this is mine
You try to be the very best you can be
And lo and behold you manage to succeed
But when you climb and make it to the top
Those who had your back turn their backs and run
Oh, I see. Why can't we
All believe in unity?
Do we have to be
So spiteful crazy with envy?
Hard times don't have to last
Let's leave the stone age in the past
We have an axe to grind
But yours is stone and mine's iron this time
I've forged an iron mind
Evolution one step at a time
I'm not defined by words form your kind
This is my time, this is our time
I'm not defined by words form your kind
This is my time, this is mine
You cannot cut me down

Mutt

Never forgotten, never forgiven
Never again though will I listen
To the people that just hated
My skin in the end
People who made me feel so different
Stabbed my back offered no stitches
Fight back to the bitter end
Only to find we all bleed red
I took my time, and took my leave
To learn a thing or two
I travelled far and wide
and gained a different point of view
Found peace in understanding
That they were just afraid
I could destroy them but
their own hate will burn them away
The war on ignorance
Point blank their battle cries
Their own real form of defence
"Hey mutt you don't belong,
we don't like you boy, this is OUR home"
Wore my bruises with pride
Too black, too white
make up your mind
I Just can't see the goddamn difference
I'm sick and tired of seeing people sitting on the fucking fence
I shouldn't need to leap to the defence
Stuck in the middle of a war that never ends

Dreams of Dust
02:18
|
|

In an old house on top of the hill
An old man sits on the verandah, still
He looks out now, across the dry land
And remembers when he had a plan.
He'd walk along, his heart was skipping
Young wife by his side, food stacked in his kitchen
Now interrupted only by the grumbling
His stomach is empty, his home is now empty
He lost it all
The day the rain went away
He lost it all
The banks are screaming for their money
He lost it all
All innocence left him today
He stared down at the spot near the tree
Where his children used to play
They grew up and shipped out, now strangers coz he
Started taking it out on the family
Times were tough, neighbours were leaving
The last family here, fighting for salvation
The ground is cracking, the sun dried the well and
Now nothing is growing, all life is retreating
He lost it all
The day the rain went away
He lost it all
The banks are screaming for their money
He lost it all
All innocence left him today
Oh savage land, the impact of mother natures hand
Cruel in the way, she can take the lifeblood all away
Towns made by man, being eaten up by dust and sand
She gives and she takes, finally after all these years the skies turn grey
Here comes the rain
Now all is well, the rain has come and time will tell
Relief from hell, relief via a shotgun shell

Ego Trip
01:10
|
|
||
Come with me and you'll see
The public domain is a plaything to be
Exploited, controlled and
The people that live here are such victims
No destiny, so easy
Add to your collections their freedom and see
Ego trip, ego trip
How easy they fall dominoes made of you and of me
You are nothing but a simpleton in a tie
Elected by people that are completely blind
Because you have your hands held over their eyes
and in your ears you're whispering lies (vote)
It's all good though even if they don't vote
Just like everything else, these things can be bought
Control of our lies, without a disguise
The same old story - being taken on a fucking ride

Forgotten
02:26
|
|

Never went to school, straight to the street,
no hope for a job, shoes worn, bare feet.
No-one to love. Nothing to eat.
The mind of a child. Old clothes, deadbeat.
Never been taught, never been raised,
never given a chance to enter our race.
For every scrap fought, made use of our waste,
carving out his own life, people are a disgrace.
Can't believe we let this happen in a country so fucking proud.
We need to pull our heads from out of the clouds.
Forgotten tales of the streets.
Wasted lives under our feet.
A civilisation, built on defeat.
The top of the food chain, but still some have nothing to eat.
Traded some cash he earned on the street
for a knife, too late to get cold feet.
Climbed up high to get inside,
the home of a family sleeping inside.
Little did he know, the wife was late,
she turned and they stood face to face.
A little too close. His hands now stained.
The blood flows free, it's our mistake.
Can't believe we let this happen in a country so fucking proud.
We need to pull our heads from out of the clouds.
You know we could have been there, in time to stop this short.
When he was a young man and still had a choice.
Forgotten tales of the streets.
Wasted lives under our feet.
A civilisation, built on defeat.
The top of the food chain, but still some have nothing to eat.

Master of Mine
02:19

Possessions, social endeavours
Status, these are your treasures
You can keep those, while I concentrate on others
I seek out simpler things, that will help me to survive
No longer blind, open eyes the keys I use to drive
I by no means had it easy
But my mother taught me well
And father shows me you can grow
And make something of yourself
I lived on both sides of the tracks and that bestowed on me
The gift of knowledge, heart, determination and of family
That feeling of warmth after a long night of cold
The way that we build things and then watch them fall
The sounds and sights that remind you of home
That moment of clarity that comes when you're alone
I by no means had it easy
I make sure that you can't tell
I have a sense of pride
I won't complain I will not dwell
Life's full of struggle, try to fight, try to land a hit
This fucked up world won't notice you if you just sleep on it
You must not sleep on it
It's time to wake
I'm wide awake and i'm grateful for all the friends I make
I won't ignore the little things that make living so great
I pity those who say small things only amuse small minds
They're only living half a life I am master of mine

I know that it remains
Will always stay the same
With you all by my side
Our endless days
Raise your fist to the sky
Salute the ones we left behind
Move forward till the end of time
Our endless days
I come from a town of miscreants
No hopers and deviants
I struggled to make friends that I
Could say thought along the same lines
And then some songs were sang to me
That breathed a brand new life in me
It all just seemed so real so I
Bought my first guitar and I learned to write
We started our own bands
The friends I made back then I will keep to the bitter end
Those songs sent shivers down my spine
They said it wouldn't last but we're proving them wrong all the time
I made a move down to the big smoke
Only new a few, it was a start though
The Arthouse doors were open wide
I never knew i'd find so much inside
Years have passed and doors have closed
But the spirit that had been evoked
Has grown and strengthened every day
Our home is where our hearts now lay
Drink up and sing with me
You beer swilling barbarians, edge warriors, we all agree
They come from far and wide
These Hardcore and these Punk Rock kids will always let you come inside
I know that it remains
Will always stay the same
With you all by my side
Our endless days
Raise your fist to the sky
Salute the ones we left behind
Move forward till the end of time
Our endless days
